Description of Work:
Using multi-media materials, mostly, pencil, acrylic, and
some 3-D agents like pulp paper, and modeling paste, and wood, etc. The
surfaces are paper, masonite and stretched/board canvas'. Subjects range from
local architecture, deteriorated 50's era diners, model railroads, and some
abstract surrealist takes on the above. There’s op-art concepts with absurd childhood
disappointments. Some of the ideas to do with stereotyped females in ads with
our colonial industry (trains), and the pre-virtual reality modern age with
pinball machines, jukeboxes, roller skating, neon lit diners and of course old
mother nature.
Born and raised in St. Thomas, ON. Went to Parkside C.I. for
highschool and to studio art courses at U.W.O. in 2003-05. Mother Julie Berry
has several poetry books published locally, most recent on a 1700’s Britich
plant bioligist. Joel likes nature, politics, architecture and temporary
kiosks. Don’t forget that a major interest is cooking and all kinds of local
farms.
St. Thomas Arts Crawl Feb. 28-29 2015
Being one of the almost 40 artists that appeared in the multi-venue arts crawl. I'm featured on the ARTISTS page here. Below here are various articles that the generous and hard working organizer collected from all the local press that featured wrote promo's about it:

Thanks, and looking forward and keeping eyes open for new venues for exhibits!!
